It’s no secret, this year one of my goals is to finish losing the extra pounds I retained after having my daughter in December 2012. As a part of my motivation, I received a Garmin Vivofit for Christmas to help track my steps (woot-woot).
Losing these last few pounds has nothing to do with vanity and everything to do with getting healthier. Plus, I want to actually keep up with my sweet three year old #TaekwondoBaby.
As my amazing friend Noelle reminded us in her January post, Dare I Say, “Get Healthy” On My New Year’s Resolutions?, our bodies are not our own. We are God’s Temple and it is our responsibility to take care of our basis to the best of our abilities.
We do not belong to ourselves. God holds our pink slips. We don’t have to pay for these company cars. He’s just asking us to maintain them because He wants us to fulfill a mission.
In my quest to take care of this temple, I scoured the App store to find free Apps to help motivate me and even reward my progress. I wanted to share my top five…but came up with ten instead.

Some extra notes:
1. I was able to rack up my HumanaVitality Points quickly once I had a Vivofit to track my steps. By the way, the Garmin Vivofit 2 is a fantastic fitness band and I highly recommend it if you are in the market for one.
3. I was able to order some delicious organic protein shakes using my Higi Points and their challenges are wonderful! Check out the one they have coming up in March: Go Green, Go Garmin.
7. I was surprised at winning the $25 and $75 prizes from Mango Health! All I did was click a button every time I took my vitamins. I also had the option of donating the money to charity.
Very soon, a couple of my dear, Jesus loving sisters will be sharing more ways for us to honor God with our bodies by sharing their health expertise on #WellnessWednesday. Another way for us to be #transformed!
PS. This March, on Facebook, I am hosting Mad Abs March. This group will meet during the month of March as we take on a daily challenge to strengthen our core (I hope to work on this muffin-top of mine!).
